Expanded kit offers advanced features and silent performance ability.
Cumberland, R.I. (August 27, 2013)—Alesis, one of the world’s fastest-growing electronic drum brands, has announced the release of the DM7X Kit, an advanced six-piece electronic drumset with four cymbal pads.
Based on the advanced Alesis DM7X module, the DM7X Kit features four tom pads, a snare pad, the super-silent StealthKick 2 trigger pad, plus four cymbal pads—one hi-hat, one ride, and two crashes. With its ultra-quiet rubber drum and cymbal pads, the DM7X Kit is ideal for professional drummers who want an electronic kit for quiet practice, or for electronic percussionists looking to upgrade to an expanded kit with professional features.
Each of the 8" dual-zone drum pads allows for realistic rim shots, side sticks, and other advanced playing techniques. The 10" crash and ride cymbal pads offer a choke function for more natural playing, and a pedal to control the hi-hat is also provided. For the kick drum, the DM7X Kit combines the chain-driven Pro X Kick pedal and the StealthKick2 compact trigger pad. The inverted beater creates a responsive and accurate stroke.
The DMX7 Kit features a pre-assembled, four-post metal rack that sets up quickly and easily. All of the necessary mounting hardware is included. A simple-to-use cable snake connects the module to the individual pads, and extra cabling is provided for the fourth tom and second crash cymbal.
“This kit really hits it out of the park,” offers Nate Lane, Alesis Product Manager. “The Alesis DM7X Kit comes with more drums, more sounds, and more features than any other kit in its class. Plus, the rubber pads and StealthKick 2 trigger pad minimize impact noise, allowing near silent operation in the studio or for after-hours practice.”
At the heart of this expanded kit is the advanced DM7X module. The backlit LCD keeps navigation simple. Drum and cymbal buttons are arranged to resemble the layout of a traditional kit, so it’s simple to assign sounds and create kits quickly.
Inside the module are 385 premium drum, percussion, and cymbal sounds, with 40 ready-to-play classic and modern kits instantly available. The built-in learning features, 60 play-along music tracks, and an onboard metronome allow any drummer to improve their skills. An advanced sequencer and a performance recorder expand the music-making potential of the DM7X module.
In addition to the USB/MIDI connection for use with computers and mobile devices, the DM7X module also includes MIDI In and Out jacks for use with any MIDI-equipped drum machine, sound module or other MIDI gear. There is a headphone jack for private practice, plus stereo outs to connect to a PA system, amplifier, or recording console. The stereo aux input allows jamming along with songs stored on a mobile device, MP3 player, or CD player.
The DM7X Kit is available now, with a MAP Price of $699.
