Numark’s groundbreaking turntable, DJ controller, and cartridge technologies to be featured as top DJs battle for 10 weeks to become the Master of the Mix
Cumberland, R.I. (April 18, 2013) – The third season of Smirnoff’s Master of the Mix has premiered on VH1 and pits the hottest up-and-coming DJs in a 10-week battle for a grand prize of $250,000 and the coveted title “Master of the Mix.” The aspiring artists are unleashing their skills and receiving either the praise or pummeling of the judges, veterans of the DJ scene Kid Capri, DJ Mia Moretti, and former Atlantic Records executive Ben Maddahi. Master of the Mix airs Mondays at midnight/11c and Thursdays at 11pm/10c on VH1.
Known for its precise engineering and bulletproof build quality, several pieces of Numark gear have been provided both for use on the show and as prizes for the contestants throughout the season. The Numark TTXUSB DJ turntable along with CS-1—a professional DJ cartridge engineered and optimized for dance music—are both on hand for DJs to use during mentoring sessions.
Prizes this season include Numark’s Mixdeck Quad, a four-channel universal DJ system able to play virtually any kind of media; 4TRAK, a high-resolution four-channel DJ controller that includes the most comprehensive effects control for Traktor® Pro 2 software available; and Numark’s latest groundbreaking DJ innovation, Orbit, a wireless handheld DJ controller with motion control. Orbit is 100% MIDI-customizable, able to wirelessly manipulate effects, launch samples and hot cues, control software, trigger lighting, and more. “Master of the Mix is putting a spotlight on the art of DJing at a very exciting time,” said Chris Roman, Numark Product Manager. “It’s a time when talent and technology are colliding in truly new ways. Orbit amplifies that in a very unique way—it’s so customizable and so freeing, we can’t wait to see how DJs will use it.”
